Jodha Akbar

Having seen Mughal-e-Azam i thought that the emperor Jalaludin Mohamad would be a cruel man, but this movie proved me wrong. It starts with a short history lesson about the Mughal Empire, Emperor Akbar and his wife Jodha Bai. Then we see a 13 year old Akbar during his first battle. We see him hesitate to kill and how he doesn’t want anybody to die in vain, but him being just 13 makes it impossible to stop it from happening. As the movie continues we see him grow up to a man. We see how he handles a war and how he stops his warriors from killing war prisoners. Akbar makes a promise that he will be an emperor known for his kindness and respect and that promise he keeps. We then leave Emperor Akbar and are introduced to princess Jodha of Amer. She is already engaged to another prince and is soon to be married. But as fate wants other her engagement never leads to a wedding. This movie tells us the story of how Akbar became the famous Emperor he was and how queen Jodha was one of the most influential persons who helped form the man he became. The setting is beautifully remade to look real and the clothes exquisite. Both lead actors have done a great job and deserve all the awards the movie got.
